Concerned Citizens: The PCC was founded in
1998 by a group of citizens who believed that property taxes in
Portsmouth had reached a level of harm for some of our citizens
and had become an excessive burden to all. It is our fundamental
and passionate belief that property taxes have risen to levels
that hurt our citizens, and that the cost of town government is
the reason for high property taxes - not high property values.
It is our view that the idea that the scope of government should
naturally grow year after year is false. As a consequence, we have
established a specific budgetary goal for our town government:
the yearly growth in the cost of government should not exceed the
rate of inflation of the previous year. |
| East
Providence Taxpayers Association: The East Providence
Taxpayers’ Association (EPTA) is a nonpartisan civic organization
dedicated to promoting good government, excellence in public education,
and the general welfare of the entire community. We believe our city
government should provide citizens with the highest quality services
efficiently and cost-effectively. |
| Lincoln
Taxpayers Association: The Lincoln Taxpayers
Association is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the rural
nature of the community and the safety and welfare of its citizens
through community involvement. |
| Tiverton
Citizens for Change A Political Action Committee
(PAC) that thinks it’s time for citizens of Tiverton to bring
fiscal responsibility and transparent government to Tiverton. We
need your support and involvement to change the status quo. |
| North
Kingstown Taxpayers Association NK
taxpayers see the "value" in educating our children
and giving them extracurricular opportunities, along with maintaining
roads and dams, providing services for senior citizens, and
providing public safety. Keeping those priorities in
mind, we cannot afford to "waste" taxpayers' dollars,
particularly during this period of budget crisis at both the
state and local level and while people are being taxed out
of their homes. NK taxpayers are looking for accountability,
transparency and fairness. |
| Little

and public policy affecting taxes and spending. The LCTA's
motto is "We want to get what we pay for and pay for only
what we need." |
| Woonsocket
Taxpayer Coalition The
WTC is a vehicle for the residents, property owners and business
owners of Woonsocket, RI to develop strategies to attempt to
fend off the seemingly endless line of tax increases and fees
resulting from the administration’s fiscal mismanagement,
budget shortfalls, and infrastructure improvements mandated
by government entities without regard for the taxpayers ability
to financially support them. |
